ProTyz is a free booking website and CRM for service businesses: cleaners, lawn crews, pest control, pool techs, handymen, junk haulers, dog walkers and the rest of the local trades. You set up a booking website in about 15 minutes, customers book (or request a quote) on it, and everything that follows, from the client record to the calendar to the reminder email, lives in one dashboard.
We call it the operating system for service businesses. This article walks through what that means in practice: the website, the booking flow, the dashboard, the team tools, reviews, Top Opportunities, pricing, and, just as important, what we haven't built yet.
Who it's for
ProTyz is built for owner-operators running a 1 to 20 person local service business. If you take bookings by phone and text and keep clients in a spreadsheet, it replaces all of that.
Ten service lines are live today: Cleaning & Maid Services, Lawn Care & Landscaping, Pest Control, Pool Service, Window, Gutter & Pressure Washing, Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, Junk Removal, Snow Removal, Dog Walking & Pet Sitting, and Handyman Services. Personal services (salons, massage, fitness, tutoring, pet grooming, photography) are launching soon.
One thing that sets ProTyz apart: you can run several service lines under a single login. A company doing cleaning, lawn care and pest control gets one website, one client list, one team and one calendar, with a switcher for "All service lines" or a single one.
The booking website
Every account gets a website on a yourbusiness.protyz.com subdomain. It has the pages a customer expects: home, services, a detail page for each service, about, reviews, book and quote. You pick a template for your vertical and add your logo, colors, a short bio and a trust block (licensed, insured, years in business).
If you want to see one before signing up, there is a sample site for every vertical at /demo/<vertical> (for example /demo/cleaning or /demo/lawn-care) and a matching demo dashboard at /demo/<vertical>/admin.
On the Pro plan you can put the site on your own domain. The subdomain stays free on every plan.
How a booking works
The booking flow is where most of the engineering went, because service pricing is rarely a single number.
- The customer picks a service.
- They answer the priced inputs for that service: bedrooms and bathrooms for a cleaning, a square-footage tier, lawn size, or a quantity.
- They add extras (inside the oven, fridge, edging, a second dog).
- They choose a frequency. Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly each carry their own discount on a ladder you set.
- They can enter a coupon code.
- They enter their ZIP code, which is checked against your service area.
- They see a live, itemized quote that updates as they change answers.
- They pick a time from your real availability. Only slots that are actually free show up, taking into account your hours, existing bookings and team unavailability.
- They enter their details and get a confirmation by email (and by SMS on Pro).
The price is snapshotted on the booking, so later price changes never alter what a customer agreed to. The engine also handles fees, minimum prices, tax, tips and deposits.
For work that genuinely needs a look first (junk removal, larger handyman jobs, landscaping projects), a service can be marked quote-first. The customer submits a quote request, you send a line-item quote from the dashboard, and they accept it with one click to create the booking.
The dashboard
The dashboard tabs are: Overview, Bookings, Clients, Opportunities, Services & Pricing, Pricing & Policies, Availability, Website, Domains, Reviews, Team, Routes, Quote Requests, Messages, Payroll, Analytics, Billing, Settings and Help & Feedback.
A few worth calling out:
- Clients is the CRM. One record per client across all your service lines, matched on email so repeat bookers don't get duplicated. Each record holds addresses, pets, notes and a per-line booking history.
- Messages is a two-way inbox. Email replies land here on every plan; SMS replies join them on Pro.
- Services & Pricing starts pre-filled from a catalogue for your vertical, so you edit prices rather than build from scratch.
- Analytics shows how the business is doing, and Payroll turns time entries into payroll runs with overtime and a CSV export.
- Help & Feedback gives you in-app support tickets and an Ideas & Roadmap board where you can upvote what gets built next.
Team, mobile and routes
You can add unlimited team members at no extra cost. Each person has qualifications per service line, a schedule, and unavailability. Because the team is shared across lines, the system won't let the same person be booked for a cleaning and a lawn job at the same time.
Field staff use the mobile web app at /mobile. It is a PWA, meaning it installs to the home screen from the browser rather than an app store. They see their job list, check in with GPS (a geofence confirms they're on site), take photos, start and complete jobs, and see their earnings.
Routes builds an optimized day route for each team member or crew.
Reviews
After a job is marked complete, the client receives a signed review-request link. Reviews appear on your site's reviews page with rating stats, and you can respond to each one from the dashboard.
Invoicing
Invoicing is free on both plans. You can start an invoice from scratch, build one from a completed booking, or turn an accepted quote into an invoice without retyping the line items. Add or edit line items, then send it to the client by email; they get a link to a read-only invoice page.
After that it's the usual housekeeping in one place: payment reminders, recording payments as they come in, voiding an invoice that shouldn't have gone out, a CSV export for your bookkeeper, and an AR summary so you can see what's outstanding. Numbering is yours to set — prefix, next number, terms days and a footer line.
One limit worth stating up front: clients can't pay the invoice by card online, because we don't capture cards yet. You send the invoice and collect payment the way you do now, then record it.
If you use QuickBooks Online, Pro connects to it and pushes invoices across, with a sync log and a retry if one fails.
Top Opportunities
This is the feature we'd point to first. A rule engine looks at your client list and flags who is due for re-engagement: recurring clients who have gone overdue, clients who have lapsed altogether, and seasonal work coming around again (a gutter clean from about a year ago, a quarterly pest client who skipped a quarter).
Each flagged client gets a one-click reach-out with an editable draft message. On Free that message goes by email; on Pro you can send SMS as well. A Monday digest email summarizes the week's opportunities. ProTyz never contacts a client automatically; you always press send. There's a full walkthrough at /blog/top-opportunities-who-to-call-this-week.
Pricing
There are two plans.
Free is $0 forever. It includes the booking website on your subdomain, unlimited bookings, clients and team members, unlimited service lines, email confirmations, 24-hour email reminders, review requests, Top Opportunities with email reach-out, quotes, invoicing, the messaging inbox, calendar, routes, payroll and analytics.
Pro is $10 a month flat, month to month. It adds SMS (1-hour reminders, clients replying CONFIRM or CANCEL by text, SMS replies in the inbox, SMS reach-out for Top Opportunities), one custom domain, either bought through ProTyz up to a price cap or connected from a registrar you already use, and QuickBooks/accounting sync.
There are no per-staff or per-user fees, no per-calendar fees, no contracts, and no commission on clients who book through your own site. You don't need a credit card to start. We charge for SMS, domains and accounting sync because those are the pieces that cost us money per account; everything else is free. The full breakdown is at /blog/protyz-pricing-free-vs-pro-explained and /pricing.
What ProTyz doesn't do yet
We would rather you know this before you sign up than after.
- Card payments from customers. Deposits and prices are recorded on the booking, but ProTyz does not capture cards today. You can send an invoice, but nobody can pay it online yet. You collect payment the way you do now.
- A native app-store app. The mobile app is a PWA, not an App Store or Play Store download.
- Live GPS tracking for customers. Staff check-in uses GPS, but customers don't get a live map.
- A marketplace. Later, we plan a marketplace that will charge commission only on bookings that originate there. Bookings from your own site will stay commission-free.
- AI features. None today.
If you need card capture, deeper accounts-receivable tools or phone support right now, Jobber and Housecall Pro are mature options and we say so plainly in our comparison articles. If what matters most is a flat price, no per-staff fees, owning your own client relationship and running several service lines together, ProTyz is built for exactly that.
Getting started
Onboarding is six steps and takes about 15 minutes: create an account (Google sign-in works), enter business info and pick your primary service line, review the pre-filled services and edit prices, set working hours, choose a template and colors, and publish. Additional service lines can be added any time.
Start free at protyz.com — no card, about 15 minutes to a live booking page.
