ProTyz pricing has two lines: Free at $0 forever, and Pro at $10 a month. There are no per-user tiers, no add-on menu, and no "contact sales." This article spells out exactly what each plan includes, why the paid items are paid, and what a five-person team would spend on a few well-known alternatives.
The two plans
Free: $0, forever
The Free plan is the whole product minus three things. It includes:
- A booking website on a
yourbusiness.protyz.comsubdomain, with home, services, service detail, about, reviews, book and quote pages, templates per vertical, your logo and colors - Unlimited bookings
- Unlimited clients
- Unlimited team members
- Unlimited service lines (cleaning + lawn + pest under one login, one client list, one team)
- The full booking flow: priced inputs, extras, frequency discounts, coupons, ZIP service-area check, live itemized quote, real availability
- Quote-first services and line-item quotes
- Invoicing: build an invoice from scratch, from a completed booking or from an accepted quote, send it by email, chase it with reminders, void it, record payments, export CSV, watch the AR summary, and set your own numbering, terms and footer
- Email confirmations and 24-hour email reminders, cancellation notices
- Review requests after completed jobs, with responses and rating stats on your site
- Top Opportunities (overdue, lapsed and seasonal client flags) with email reach-out and the Monday digest
- Two-way messaging inbox (email)
- Calendar, Availability, Routes (day-route optimization)
- Mobile web app for staff with GPS check-in, photos, start/complete and earnings
- Payroll (time entries to payroll runs, overtime, CSV export)
- Analytics
- In-app Help & Feedback and the Ideas & Roadmap board
"Forever" means forever. Free isn't a trial that expires or a plan that caps you at 50 bookings.
Pro: $10 a month flat
Pro is everything in Free plus:
- SMS. One-hour SMS reminders in addition to the 24-hour email. Clients can reply CONFIRM or CANCEL by text. SMS replies land in your Messages inbox. SMS reach-out for Top Opportunities.
- One custom domain. Buy one through ProTyz (included, up to a price cap) or connect a domain you already own. Setup goes DNS, then SSL, then active, and you choose which domain is primary. Your free subdomain keeps working.
- QuickBooks / accounting sync. Connect QuickBooks Online, push invoices across, and check a sync log with a retry when one fails. Invoicing itself is free on both plans; Pro is what carries it into your books automatically.
Pro is billed month to month. Cancel and you drop back to Free with everything intact except SMS, the custom domain and the accounting sync.
Why SMS and domains are the paid part
We charge for the things that cost us money on a per-account basis.
Every text message we send on your behalf costs us a carrier fee. Every domain has a registration cost, and serving it needs a certificate and a bit of infrastructure. Accounting sync is the same shape of cost: keeping a live QuickBooks connection healthy per account means tokens to refresh, pushes to retry and a sync log to keep. The rest of the product, hosting your website, storing your clients, computing availability, sending email, sending invoices, runs at a cost that we can absorb across all accounts. Those three don't, so they're bundled into one flat $10 rather than metered per message, priced per domain or charged per synced invoice.
That's also why there's no per-staff fee. Adding a team member doesn't cost us anything meaningful, so it doesn't cost you anything.
What we will never charge
- No per-user or per-staff fees. A 12-person crew pays the same as a solo operator.
- No per-calendar or per-location fees.
- No commission on your own bookings. Clients who book through your website are your clients. We don't take a cut.
- No contracts. Month to month on Pro; nothing at all on Free.
- No credit card to start.
Looking further out: we plan a marketplace later, and it will charge commission only on bookings that originate from the marketplace itself. Bookings from your own site will stay commission-free. No date on that yet, so don't plan around it.
What a five-person team pays elsewhere
The comparison that matters is total monthly cost for a real team, because most competitors price per user. Here's what an owner plus four staff would pay on a few popular tools, on monthly billing, as of mid-2026. These figures are computed from published list prices; check each vendor's pricing page before deciding, as plans and prices change.
| Tool | How it's priced | 5-person team, per month (as of mid-2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Jobber | Per user. Core $39 (1 user) + $29 per extra user; or Connect team plan $169 for 5 users | About $155 (Core + 4 users) to $169 (Connect, 5 users) |
| Housecall Pro | Per-user tiers. Basic $79 (1 user) + $35 per extra user; Essentials $189 covers up to 5 users | $189 (Essentials) — Basic plus 4 users would be $219 |
| ZenMaid | Base plus per user. Pro Max $49 + $24 per user; lower tiers from $19 with $4–$14 per extra user; SMS billed on usage | Roughly $75 on a lower tier to about $145 on Pro Max, plus SMS usage |
| Vagaro | Per calendar. $30 for 1 calendar + $10 each extra, capped at $90 | $70 (5 calendars) |
| ProTyz Free | Flat | $0 |
| ProTyz Pro | Flat | $10 |
A few notes on reading that table honestly:
- Jobber and Housecall Pro include things ProTyz doesn't have: card payments from customers, deeper accounts-receivable and job-costing tools, phone support and mature native mobile apps. If those are essential to your business today, the higher price may be worth it. ProTyz does now cover the basics of invoicing (free) and QuickBooks sync (Pro).
- ZenMaid is cleaning-only and goes deep on cleaning-specific workflows.
- Vagaro is built for salons and personal services and includes payment processing, which is a different market from most of our launched verticals.
- ProTyz's SMS is included in the flat $10 on Pro rather than metered.
The gap widens as the team grows. Jobber's Grow team plan is $349 for 10 users; Housecall Pro charges $35 for each user beyond the tier. On ProTyz, user ten costs the same as user one: nothing.
Which plan should you pick?
Start on Free. That's not a sales tactic; it's how the product is meant to be used. Everything you need to take bookings, manage clients and run a team is there.
Move to Pro when any of these becomes true:
- You want texts. If your no-show rate is a problem, or your clients simply don't read email, the one-hour SMS reminder and the CONFIRM/CANCEL reply are the practical fix. The same goes for reaching lapsed clients by text through Top Opportunities.
- You want your own domain. If you're printing
yourbusiness.comon trucks and cards, put the booking site there. - You keep your books in QuickBooks. Invoicing is free either way, but Pro pushes those invoices into QuickBooks Online instead of you or your bookkeeper re-entering them.
If none of them applies yet, stay on Free and revisit later. Downgrading and upgrading are both instant.
What isn't included on any plan yet
For completeness, because a pricing page that hides gaps isn't worth much: ProTyz does not currently offer card capture from customers, an app-store native app (the mobile app is a PWA), or live GPS tracking for customers. Deposits are recorded on the booking rather than charged, and while you can send an invoice, your client can't pay it online yet. When those ship, we'll say so on /pricing.
